Coaching Education Program (CEP)

MUST BE IN COMPLIANCE BY 12/31 OF EACH YEAR TO REMAIN ON ROSTERS.

CEP courses are available from mid-summer through 12/15.

A brand new coach at 10U – 18/19U must take a Level 1 course the first year, Level 2 the following year, and so on until they reach Level 4.

Levels 1, 2, and 3 are each good for one season. Level 4 is good for 3 seasons, during which time 5 continuing education credits must be completed to renew the Level 4.

Level 5 is not required, but can be taken as continuing education. It is good for 4 years, during which time 5 continuing education credits must be completed to renew the Level 5.

Coaches who received Level 4 prior to 2021and have not been on a Tier One or Tier Two (including non-National Tournament Bound rosters) have been grandfathered in at Level 4 and are not required to complete continuing education.

Brand new coach at 6/8U must take the 6/8U CEP course the first year. 6/8U CEP is good for five years as long as only coaching at the 6/8U level. If they are still coaching only 6/8U after 5 years they can renew the 6/8U CEP. At anytime the coach moves to an older age level they must take Level 1 and continue the progression to Level 4.

Past 6/8U coaches who have completed Level 1 prior to 2025 can continue to coach 6/8U with expired CEP. Once they move to an older age group they must take Level 2 and continue the progression to Level 4.

Any coach taking Level 1 in 2025 or later will need to take Level 2 the following year even if only coaching 6/8U.

Temporary Coaching Cards (Temp Cards)

Coaches not in compliance with CEP by 12/31 and wish to continue to coach the remainder of the season may apply for a one time Temporary Coaching Card (Temp Card).

USAH should post information and a link by January.

Coaches who have previously received a Temp Card are not eligible.

If eligible, apply, and pay the fee the Temp Card will be issued. No reason for the request needs to be provided.

A Temp Card is good for the remainder of the season – through spring and summer.

In order to be rostered again after the end of the season the coach will need to complete his next CEP course prior to being added to a roster.

Age Specific Modules

REQUIRED TO BE ADDED TO A ROSTER.

One time requirement per age module. Available (new) modules are: 6U/8U, 10U/12U, and 13+. If taking a "new" module for the first time, must complete the Fundamentals module first. Previous (old) versions of the modules are still valid.

Once SafeSport expires the member is redlined from the roster and no longer eligible to participate. Course must be completed AND the association registrar must be notified to resubmit the member to regain eligibility.
